Missouri's 2021 Legislative Agenda Will Have More Than The Usual Items

Missouri State Legislature

KCUR 89.3
Missouri State Senator Barbara Washington is "prayerful" that legislators will expand Medicaid after voters approved Amendment 2 in August of 2020 to do just that.

COVID-19 means uncertainty for Missouri’s state budget and for the legislative session itself.

In addition, medical cannabis, pandemic relief and local control of the Kansas City Police Department could all be on the agenda. Lawmakers will return to the state capitol for the 2021 session without a mask mandate in place leaving completion of a full session in doubt.

When I host Up To Date each morning at 9, my aim is to engage the community in conversations about the Kansas City area’s challenges, hopes and opportunities. I try to ask the questions that listeners want answered about the day’s most pressing issues and provide a place for residents to engage directly with newsmakers.
