A backlog of applications for KanCare has grown into the thousands, but where the blame lies is up for debate. Gov. Kelly is looking to clean up a mess that began after the state's Medicaid program was privitized. Maximus, the company which holds that contract, stands by their work and says they've processed applications within the time specified in their contract. We heard from someone familiar with the application process about why so many new employees are needed, and how far they would go toward fixing the problem.
