Seg. 1: 4th District At-Large Debate | Seg. 2: Kansas Poet Laureate

Segment 1: Incumbent and challenger are campaigning to represent a district that runs from the Country Club Plaza to north of the Missouri River. 

A current Kansas City, Missouri, council member and a former businessman are vying to win the city's 4th District at-Large seat in the June 18 election. The candidates differed on government spending, develoment, climate change and crime.

  • Katheryn Shields, councilwoman, 4th District at-Large
  • Robert Westfall, candidate for 4th District at-Large

Segment 2, beginning at 26:14: First Latino to hold Kansas' poet laureateship will "promote the work of other poets."

Huascar Medina is "really concerned about where poetry is in Kansas," and is looking to make more Kansans aware of the poets in their midst during his two-year term.
