  • Cozy up and enjoy a Kansas City Symphony performance of Gustav Mahler's epic Symphony No. 3. You'll also hear from music director Michael Stern and special guest Kelley O'Connor, the featured mezzo-soprano, on what it's like to perform such an enormous work.
  • Michael Stern returns as co-host for a program featuring music for our time, a classic concerto and a requiem for the living. We'll hear anthemic music by Jessie Montgomery and a concerto by Max Bruch with violinist Augustin Hadelich. Also, find out why Brahms' "A German Requiem" is a "desert island" piece for Michael Stern.
  • Charles Bruffy, the director of the Kansas City Symphony Chorus and Kansas City Chorale, joins Dan Margolies as guest host for an all-choral program featuring the chorus. We'll learn about his rehearsal process and hear his insights into works by Mark Hayes, Gabriel Fauré, Alexander Zemlinsky, Francis Poulenc and Sergei Rachmaninoff.

  • KC VITAS is a local "project based" vocal ensemble dedicated to expanding what is possible for a choir and the human voice. Host Stephen Steigman speaks with Founder and Director Jackson Thomas, as well as performer, and composer-in-residence Leslee Wood. We'll hear a diverse selection of modern vocal works.
  • Allegro Choirs of Kansas City has been helping young singers grow as musicians and people for over 20 years. Founder and Director Christy Elsner and graduating senior Lexi Dixon share music and stories with Classical KC, such as a humorous and emotional 2012 performance at the White House. We'll hear a wide range of music, including part of a performance with The Kanas City Symphony and Symphony Chorus of Benjamin Britten's "War Requiem."
