By Alex Smith
By Alex Smith
Kansas City, MO – Recently, on a warm February night, hundreds of people celebrated Tet in the auditorium at the Pioneer Campus of Penn Valley Community College near 18th and Vine. Tet is a traditional Vietnamese holiday marking the start of the lunar New Year and the beginning of spring. The Vietnamese American Community of Greater Kansas City rang in the New Year with traditional food and dance performances, as well as live pop songs and a fashion show. KC Currents' assistant producer Alex Smith was there and talked to organizer Troung Nguyen.
