Kansas City, MO – Missouri Governor Matt Blunt wants lawmakers to know he has no intentions of spending the state's 833 million-dollar surplus on restoring Medicaid benefits cut three years ago.

New campaign finance reports are out today showing Republican Senator Pat Roberts of Kansas with a sizable fundraising lead over his main Democratic rival.

In Missouri, Democrat Kay Barnes says she's raised nearly twice as much money as incumbent Republican Congressman Sam Graves in the latest reporting period.

A second series on the rebuilding of a Kansas town nearly destroyed by a tornado is headed for the TV screen.
