Should Santa Move From The North Pole?

LINDA WERTHEIMER, HOST:

And our last word in business news is: Relocating Santa. Corporations use data all the time when they consider whether to move. So, researchers at the University of Toronto took into account Santa's undesirable location, his brutal commute and extreme isolation and asked: What location makes better sense for Santa?

They looked at variables, including the number of cookie and milk factories per capita, postal workers, toy makers in stores - in case he wants to outsource - and came up with a list of the top 10 U.S. cities Santa might want to consider. Pittsburg and Peoria made the list. But number one is Williamsport, Pennsylvania, home to lots of department stores and exceptional delivery service.
