Bill Designating Liberty Memorial As National Monument Moves Along

Kansas City Congressman Emmanuel Cleaver says he feels good about the designation of Liberty Memorial as the nation’s official World War One Memorial. The bill made it out of committee this week without any House opposition, but similar measures have had a checkered history.  Find out more here.

University of Missouri Proposes Tuition Increase

Students on the four campuses of the University of Missouri system are facing another two percent increase in tuition next year. City Council Changes Ambulance Board, Charity Race Ordinances

Seeking more input on ambulance response times, the Kansas City Council increased the number of members on the ambulance service advisory board yesterday and gave that board more authority on recommendations. The charity race ordinance would raise permit fees and hire a coordinator to help prevent tie ups with local businesses.
