KANSAS CITY, Ks. – For the past 10 years, teenage musicians from all over the city have flourished under the guidance of Leon Brady, founder of Kansas City Youth Jazz. For the students, it's been a chance to learn from a top-notch former jazz pro. For Brady, it's been the chance to pass on a passion. Alex Smith met Brady and his students in 2008 and has this story.

On Sunday, July 31, 2011, Kansas City Youth Jazz will hold a concert at Penn Valley Community College to honor Brady, who retired in June.
