Kansas City Music Guy Chris Haghirian To Host All Local Radio Show

90.9FM The Bridge

Kansas City community radio station The Bridge is launching a new hour-long music program this January hosted by local music aficionado Chris Haghirian.

"Eight One Sixty" will debut on Jan. 6 and air weekly on Tuesdays from 6-7 p.m. The show will play all local music and feature interviews, news and live performances from Kansas City-based artists.

The Bridge Station Manager Jon Hart says he hopes the program will drive local musicians to become even more excited about Kansas City's music scene.

"I think that musicians will realize that people are paying attention, and that will up their game," Hart said. "The more that everybody knows about local music, the more it will help build upon something that is already great."

Host Chris Haghirian is best known for helping to create INK magazine's Middle of the Map Fest, and for helping to facilitate local concert partnerships for Boulevardia, the Kansas City Royals and Sporting KC, among others. He has appeared on KCUR's Up to Date several times to discuss his "Best Of" music selections.
