Audience Insights Analyst — KCUR is seeking a sharp and curious Audience Insights Analyst to help us better understand and serve our communities. This person is responsible for analyzing a variety of metrics to determine how KCUR is performing, identify trends and offer evidence-based recommendations for how we can better serve and reach our existing and target audiences.

Environmental and Agriculture Reporter, Harvest Public Media — Harvest Public Media is seeking an environmental and agriculture reporter to join our team at KCUR in Kansas City. This person should be eager to dive into issues around climate change, water quality and access, food production, as well as delving into the challenges facing rural communities.

Editor, Harvest Public Media — Harvest Public Media is adding the position of Editor to help expand the public radio collaboration, which reports on agriculture and food systems, the environment and climate change, and rural issues throughout the Midwest and Great Plains.

Political Reporter, Kansas News Service — KCUR is seeking a Political Reporter to join the Kansas News Service. The reporter will be covering campaigns and politics, producing in-depth features on the power dynamics across the state, and covering the Kansas Legislature.

Reporter, Solutions in Underserved Communities — KCUR seeks a journalist to investigate responses to social problems in underserved communities throughout the metropolitan area. We’re looking for a reporter to investigate and explain how and why some responses have worked — or not worked — and what communities learned in the process, and how successes can be replicated in other places.

KCUR's internships are designed to prepare college students, recent graduates and other qualified candidates for careers in public media.

Application Deadlines

  • Summer program: Mid- to late February
  • Fall program: Early July
  • Winter/spring program: Mid-November
