KANSAS CITY, MO. –
Part of the Nation's aviation history is disappearing . Older planes that can't fly any more are gradually vanishing into a sort of mothball fleet. One of the lumbering bombers of World War Two is among the handful still airborne. And it's been catching attention of commuters driving past Kansas City's Downtown Airport this week. KCUR's Dan Verbeck took a closer look at the B 17 bomber called the "Liberty Belle."

KCUR prides ourselves on bringing local journalism to the public without a paywall — ever.
