U.S. 'Healthcare System Was Not Ready' For COVID-19, Says A Former CDC Official

As of May 14, there are more than 1.3 million known cases and more than 83,000 deaths attributed to COVID-19, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Dr. Ali Khan highlighted how public health experts need to be involved in the country's planning ahead for national emergencies and not brought after they have occurred.
