KC Rep to present Sherlock Holmes through the female lens

KC Rep
Kate Hamill (left) and Vaishnavi Sharma (right) play the title roles in "Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson – Apt. 2B" being put on by KC Rep.

In a new play, Holmes and Dr. Watson are reimagined for current times.

What if the iconic duo were actually modern-day women, teaming up to solve crimes during a pandemic?

That's the premise of the comedy now in rehearsal at the KC Rep. The actors in the title roles of "Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson – Apt. 2B" joined Up To Date to talk about the process for bringing a new version of the beloved detective team to the stage.

  • Kate Hamill, playwright/actor, plays the role of Ms. Joan Watson
  • Vaishnavi Sharma, actor, plays the role of Ms. Sherlock Holmes

The world premiere of "Ms. Holmes and Ms. Watson - Apt. 2B" runs February 3 - 20 at the Copaken Stage of the Kansas City Repertory Theatr, 1 H and R Block Way, Kansas City, MO 64105. For show times and tickets visit https://kcrep.org/event/holmes-and-watson/.
