Of the seven city destinations on National Geographic's must-see list for 2019, ours was the only American city.

Segment 1: Barbecue, jazz, and historical sights connect visitors with the soul of the city. 

Kansas Citians, prepare yourselves for a big year of tourism in 2019. National Geographic listed KC as one of the world's most exciting destinations for the year ahead. Today, we talked with an editor-in-chief at National Geographic Traveler about the appeal of our Midwestern city compared to other exotic places on the list. 

Segment 2, beginning at 22:24: Before being reshaped by family-oriented sensibilities, Christmas movies were a little more rowdy.

"It's A Wonderful Life" or "Love, Actually" may properly depict your traditional mood during Christmas, but for those of us who prefer something a little off the beaten path, Up To Date's Cinephiles are back to discuss unconvential holiday movies that addressed then-controversial issues of gender, class, adolesence and society.
