The Return Of Commuter Rail To Jackson County?

Jackson County government

There's a new twist in the Kansas City transit debate, and that's not the only thing going on in Jackson County.

In the first part of Wednesday's Up to Date, we'll talk with Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders about new ideas for commuter rail, maintenance of Truman Sports Complex, the Truman Courthouse in Independence and more, and his role as the chair of the Missouri Democratic Party.

Should Jackson County voters approve commuter rail? Post here or call us during the show at (816) 235-2888.

Mike Sanders is the Jackson County Executive. He received a B.A. degree in philosophy from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a J.D. from The OSU School of Law. He served as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He has been a Jackson County prosecutor and is a member of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, American Legion and an active member of the Mizzou Alumni Association.

When I host Up To Date each morning at 9, my aim is to engage the community in conversations about the Kansas City area’s challenges, hopes and opportunities. I try to ask the questions that listeners want answered about the day’s most pressing issues and provide a place for residents to engage directly with newsmakers.
