Kansas City, Missouri finally has a pension deal with MAST ambulance employees. Or more accurately, two pension deals. And an overall contract deal is in the works with Firefighters Local 42, but not official yet. Read more here.
Kansas Lawmakers Look At Bill Helping Race Tracks
A Kansas Senate committee has introduced a gaming bill that could help reopen some dog and horse racing tracks. It would also make it easier to attract a casino developer to southeast Kansas. The legislation could face opposition from Gov. Sam Brownback, who has said he believes lawmakers have enough on their plates and should focus on other issues instead of gaming bills.
