Kansas City, MO – On his new CD, Brandon Draper New Quintet, he takes a turn as group leader and gets a chance to explore his own rhythmic concepts. Draper, who's also an instructor at UMKC and Shawnee Mission West, told KCUR's Alex Smith about his passion for Middle Eastern rhythms and how a college friend introduced him to the furious beats of electronica.
