This week on 12th Street Jump we celebrate the birthday of James Carter and Frank Wess with our special guest, Bill Crain. The gang starts 2012 right as the Tonight Show’s Mark Pender stops by for some tunes, Dr. Pearl holds a clinic, and Nedra sings out her blues.

Song List:

  • Whisper Not
  • Lester Leaps In
  • Shiny Stockings
  • Just One of Those Things
  • Parker’s Mood
  • On Green Dolphin Street

Detroit born, James Carter has been playing and recording saxophones, flutes and clarinets since the late 80's early 90's. He is known for his seemingly unlimited inventiveness as a saxophonist. Carter has mastered various styles of jazz and his playing can be very technical and show his sense of humor.

Tune in New Years Eve at Midnight after the Fish Fry.
