Missouri Gov. Mike Parson has taken criticism for responding slowly to the coronavirus pandemic.

The virus that has descended on the world and a lack of clear guidance from Washington has given residents of Missouri and Kansas an opportunity to see two governors — one Democratic, one Republican — respond differently to the crisis.
