Mayor Quinton Lucas says the day before Operation LeGend was announced publicly, a member of his office was notified about the general premise, but not the details or scope of the operation.

Mayor Quinton Lucas has found himself in the middle of an unforced communications error around the recent surge of federal law enforcement agents known as Operation LeGend.

Lucas initially said he first heard about Operation LeGend on Twitter. His office was technically notified before that, but the mayor said his staff wasn't made aware of the details or scope of the federal operation.
