Claire McCaskill is now a regular political analyst for MSNBC and NBC.

When it comes to the events of January 6, 2021, "I go from boiling rage to incredibly sad and heartbroken," says Missouri's former senator.

After losing her 2018 reelection bid for the U.S. Senate, McCaskill wasted little time in becoming a popular political analyst. She offered her thoughts on why President Trump's base is so faithful, congressional attempts to hold the president accountable for the assault on the Capitol building, and when it came to her Senate successor McCaskill's take on his conduct on January 6, 2021 boils down to, "Hawley was more interested in gaining that national platform" then following his party's leadership advice.
