Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas

Kansas City's Mayor says now is time to invest in prevention, mental health services and rank and file neighborhood police officers.

Mayor Lucas provided updates on the lawsuit launched by the Board of Police Commissioners against the city, finding a police commissioner to fill the empty seat on the board, what effect he thinks the recent passage of HB85 will have in fighting gun violence in Kansas City, and why he joined 10 other mayors of American cities to announce efforts to explore reparations to Black Americans.
