Third Time's The Charm For Karrin Allyson's Return To Kansas City

Kansas native, Karrin Allyson, returns to live touring with a stop at the Folly Theater.

After two previous pandemic postponements, the jazz vocalist says she's excited to make a safe return to Kansas City to perform live.

While the pandemic shuttered live performances, jazz vocalist Karrin Allyson found a new ways to connect with her fans — virtual concerts and a monthly radio show.

"That's been a nice distraction," Allyson said of the eclectic program hosted with former Kansas City Symphony music director, Bill McGlaughlin.

Now, the singer is back on tour and making a stop at the Folly Theater.

Not being able to perform concerts during the pandemic, "your identity starts to waiver, maybe, a little bit," Allyson said noting that, "It has been and continues to be a challenge."

Karrin Allyson performs at 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 9, at the Folly Theater, 300 W. 12th St., Kansas City, Missouri 64105.
