The fountain sits just off one of Kansas City's most visible intersections, at Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard and J.C. Nichols Parkway.

A proposal tochange the name of the fountain quickly received support from Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas and others. It's not the first time renaming the fountain has been called for.

New name recommendations for the fountain can be submitted to the Board of Parks and Recreation at KCParksEngage@kcmo.org.

When I host Up To Date each morning at 9, my aim is to engage the community in conversations about the Kansas City area’s challenges, hopes and opportunities. I try to ask the questions that listeners want answered about the day’s most pressing issues and provide a place for residents to engage directly with newsmakers.
